At the beginning of the year, students register for multiple options. If students opt to register in the Recreation Academy, they will register in fewer options, allowing for greater time to be allotted to the academy

Cost of the academy is currently $150 a month. This allows students to be doing activities on average 80% of classes, depending on the month and the cost of the activities.

The Recreation Academy has its own unique curriculum which was developed and created based on the Physical Education, Religion and Health curriculums to create a unique experience for student growth outside of the traditional academic curriculum.

The monthly student fees will be spent primarily on recreational activities in and outside of the school. Occasionally, activities can be brought into the school but more often than not, the fees will be covering transportation and activity costs. A small amount of the fees will go to supplies for various activities and for academy wear for the students. The goal of the program is to use student fees as fully and efficiently as possible to maximize student experiences.

Following each recreational activity, students will self-evaluate (with teacher supervision) on how well they feel they wholeheartedly gave an effort to understand and participate in the given activity. This will be out of 4 and this category is worth 75% of their overall grade.

Students will also be evaluated on 3 term projects throughout the year. Each term project will be worth 10% of their grade and will be based on the outcomes in the curriculum for that term.
